..any were we go is muddy...

Hey, How is it going?
Things here are going well. I haven't got my new scriptures yet, but they will probably be here today or tomorrow. Thanks for sending them out to me. I have been getting along all right without them because before I left the mtc I bought a little pocket size Book of Mormon. I have read that one way more than my quad. I have it way more marked up and can teach most lessons out of it. Well the snow up here is mostly all melted but there is a ton of mud. Our truck is covered in mud and anywhere we go is muddy because most of the roads are dirt on the way to people's houses. We had a good week this week, we had 11 investigators at church and that is the most I have ever had come to church on my mission, so that was good. We had some good lessons this week. We should also have some baptisms coming up in the next couple weeks, that is if everything goes right. We had one investigator named Diane who had to have a special interview from a member of the mission presidency to be baptized. She passed and is ready to go. We have a few 12 year old kids that are ready too, so it is going pretty good. Well Dad, good luck on Wednesday and I will be praying for you! Kelsea it is good to hear you are doing good in your basketball games (how can you not do good being my little sister) Well I got to go, tell Aunt Dawna thanks for sending me out my scriptures.

Dear Family and Friends

Hey How is it going. Things here are going great. Wow, I can't believe all the people that are dying up there. Who do you have helping you with the graves, Kelsea? Well thing here are going good. We had a baptism on Saturday and I got to baptize him. It was pretty good. Caleb sure was excited to be baptized. He had been staying in his car for the last week because he didn't want to go home, and put up with his parents telling him not to do it. He is a pretty amazing guy. Well on Saturday morning we got to go cut down some trees at a member's house. I felt like I was at home chopping up wood again. I don't know if I had told you guys but they put green chili on everything here. New Mexico food is supposedly hotter than American food. After district meeting we took some time to go to a place called Twister. and they have these burritos that inside are filled with carne anavoda (spicy shredded pork) then they cover it with curly fries and green chili, it is very delicious. I am definitely starting to like spicy food. Well I'll talk to you later.

Dear Family and Friends,

Hey, How is it going? Things here are going great. It sounds like Halloween was fun, well as far as family business goes you can blame things on me all you want now that I am gone I don't mind, but it sounds like Hannah and Karly should give you plenty of things to bring up in family business. Tell Kelsea that not to worry about getting tongue tied in front of everybody. I still get a little tongue tied at times but with practice you will be able to say what you know to be true and how it has blessed your life easily, so don't give up. Well things here have been going good we have a baptism this week, it's Caleb so I am pretty excited about that. He is definitely giving up a lot to be baptized. He got excommunicated from his old church this week, and so now no one from his family will not talk to him because if they do then they will be excommunicated too. His brother and him were living together in a house and his brother moved and took all the food and left him with all the bills. He doesn't even have a job. He is still planning on getting baptized this Saturday. Well Stephano is doing well. We listened to Jeffery R. Holland's talk with him this week, he really enjoyed that. His dad is still a little unsure about him getting baptized but hopefully things will workout. We set another baptismal date this week with a guy named John. John is a single guy that just got out of prison a couple years ago. He is not sure he knows it is true yet, but he said we can work toward that date. That should be good we are going to see him tonight. Well I think that is about all going on here. My shoes and socks are holding up alright. One of my shoes is coming apart a little at the heel but my others are still intact. They are still all wearable. One of my suits is looking a little dingy because I walked 45 minutes in the rain to district meeting in it but I just need to get it dry cleaned. I would say it would be nice if you could send my old black suite but i don't think it will fit. I almost can't get my suites I have to fit but they are alright for now as long as I stay in a bike area. Well take care.

Dear Family and Friends

Hey, How are things going? Things here are going good? To answer your question I have been here longer than my comp. I have been here for 4 months, and he has been here for about two and a half. My comp. doesn't like the city I guess, so he doesn't really like it here. I guess my comp. is just use to the reservation where it is a little more laid back. Here in Eldorado it is a lot of knocking doors and talking to a lot more people. On the reservation it is mostly less active work, and doing service for the Indians. We still do have a baptismal date set for Oct. 9th, and it is pretty solid. It is with that guy named Bill Goldrick I was telling you about, and he has already planned everything out. He has already knows who he wants to speak, and has been coming to church every Sunday. It is pretty exciting because he choose to be baptized on the last week of the transfer, so I will for sure be here for it. This week was kind of a slow week because my companion got hit by a car so we were on foot all week. Finally, my companion could got a new bike on Monday. On Thursday we had district meeting and it was raining so we got soaked even with our rain jackets on because it was a 45 min walk to district meeting. My suit got wet and everything. This is like their monsoon season from July to September. Who would have thought New Mexico had a monsoon season, but it rained pretty hard the streets were over flowing with water. Mostly during monsoon season here it will rain about 4 days a week for 15 min each day. The other day it rained for hours. They were saying that is was a record for most rain received in one day or something I don't know. On Friday we had this high school kid that is friends with the bishop's son that asked us to teach him the lessons, so we are teaching him right now. I am pretty excited about it. He came to church and seem to be pretty interested. Yesterday was temple day so we weren't able to email, so that's why I am today. Well that is about everything. Oh yeah, as far as the wife thing goes tell Kelsea to let me worry about that, and if she is worried about only having one sister in law tell her maybe they will institute plural marriage again. I do have a request, if you ever have time i have been craving peanut butter popcorn so the next time you send me a package if you could toss some in that would be great. Well got to go.

Labor Day weekend

hey how is it going? It was good to hear from you guys this week. sounds like you guys had an exciting week with the cats and everything. At least now we don't have to worry about sassy having more cats and dogs are better anyway. Speaking of cats, when we were tracking the other day we were knocking at this house and while we were waiting for them to answer the door I was looking in their window and I saw two cats, then as I started looking around some more. I saw more and more cats they were everywhere just the ones I could see from the window I counted 16 cats and I am sure there were a lot more. I am kinda glad whoever lived there didn't answer the door because whoever had that many cats has to be crazy. So maybe it is not such a bad thing all the cats died otherwise we might end up like whoever lived there. It was a good week we talked to a lot of people. One lady stopped us as we were going to an appointment, she was crazy, she told us the that she was from up there as she pointed to the sky and she told us we were wasting our time and told us all these crazy things. If she really was from "up there" as she said, when she was coming down she must have landed on her head. Yes this is my first companion that I have had for more than 1 transfer. I didn't even have my trainer for more than one transfer. I was kind of bumbed about staying here for another transfer because this area is not that exciting. The missionaries that served here before called it heldorado. I didn't think it is that bad but I was ready for a change but then this week things start picking. We are teaching these kids who we just started teaching yesterday and there mom wants them baptized so we will probably have at least three baptisms by the end of this transfer and hopefully one or two more. So Kelsea, you are turning 13 years old huh? Wow, so your going to be a big bad teenager. well I will have to send you something cool for your b-day. Well BYU beat Oklahoma huh!? That is way cool I actually saw the scores. We were visiting a less active guy and he had ESPN on and I saw the scores. I was pretty excited, and I am a little jeolous of you guys going to a BYU game. Well I guess I will have time for that when I get home. Well that is about everything going on with me. Thanks for everything .
